"My Favorite Stained Glass Techniques" with Visiting Artist Joseph Cavalieri

"My Favorite Stained Glass Techniques" with Visiting Artist Joseph Cavalieri

from $525.00

Chicago Glass Collective is thrilled to welcome renowned stained glass artist Joseph Cavalieri as a visiting artist in Spring 2027!

Explore Joseph Cavalieri's signature approach to painted stained glass in this three-day visiting artist workshop. Using premixed glass enamels, students will learn a variety of image-making techniques, including painting, airbrushing, atomizing, pen work, and silkscreen printing directly onto stained glass before kiln firing.

No previous painting experience is necessary. Students will work from traced imagery while practicing each technique through a series of samples before creating a finished project. On the final day, participants will copper foil and solder their fired glass pieces into a completed 9 × 9 inch stained glass panel.

Joseph will provide silkscreens for use throughout the workshop and will also share practical guidance on framing and lighting stained glass artwork. In addition, he will present informal talks on marketing your artwork and applying for artist residencies.

The techniques introduced in this workshop can be applied to both stained glass panels and mosaics.
