Chicago Glass Collective’s Teen Glass Camp offers young artists the opportunity to explore the exciting world of glass through hands-on studio experience. Designed specifically for students ages 14–18, this week-long camp introduces a range of glassmaking techniques including fusing, casting, stained glass, glassblowing, sandblasting, and flameworking.

Students will learn directly from professional instructors in Chicago’s only comprehensive glass studio, equipped with facilities for hot glass, flameworking, kiln work, and coldworking. Throughout the week, participants will create their own glass artworks while learning about the science, safety, and collaborative processes that make glass such a dynamic material.

Whether students are completely new to glass or already have experience, this camp provides a welcoming environment to develop creative skills, build confidence, and experience the excitement of working with molten material.

Choose from several sizes and shape options, and spend part of your Friday with us creating your own beautiful fused glass piece. Learn how to safely cut and assemble beautiful sheet glass into your own unique design.

Materials provided in the flat fee include all tools, kiln firings, instruction, colorful scrap and accessory glass, and two pieces of clear or white base glass. Choose from Clear or White base glass. Please see the student work samples below.

Perfect for a date, “Girls’ Night Out” or family outing. Ages 14+.

• No experience necessary and great for ages 14+. 

• Ages 14-15 must have an adult present with them for the entire class.

• All materials are provided. Your pieces will be fired after class and ready to pick up appox. 2-3 weeks after class. We do our very best to have your pieces finished within two weeks. Shipping is available for a fee.

• Ages 16+ Parent/Guardian must be present when student (ages 16-17) arrives to sign waiver before class.

• Wear closed-toed shoes and bring water to drink.

• Doors open 10 minutes before class

• You will receive an information letter from us a couple of days before class with all the details pertaining to parking, directions, and other important information.

• We will send out an info letter a few days before class with all the info you need about parking, what to wear, and other details to help you have a great night out at our studio/
