Looking for new ways to create unique patterns to add to your glass work? In this class we will cover construction methods for 4 widely varied pattern bars -- "suspended flow" bars, “organic bars”, "sushi roll" bars, "everything but the kitchen sink" bars and precisely composed and controlled bars.

We will cover containing glass, volume calculations, damming, firing schedules and basic coldworking techniques. The 2nd and 3rd classes will include cutting and preparing our bars for use in larger scale projects. We will also go over how to make pattern bars for roll ups.

Class includes use of tools, kiln firings, coldworking equipment and a variety of  color glass strips, beautiful scrap glass, accessory glass and two clear base sheets (8”x8” & 6”x6”).

You will create 2 finished pieces; one (8" x 8") and one finished 6” x 6”.  You will also leave class with several pattern blanks and cut pieces that you can use in your own projects after class. 

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of cutting and assembling glass.
