In this comprehensive 4-week class, you will be introduced to many fundamental concepts related to creating glass objects in the kiln.
You will have the opportunity to fuse multiple pieces and learn how to plan firing schedules and prep the kilns for firings. In addition, you will learn proper and detailed techniques of fusing, slumping, cutting, assembly, color choice and finishing techniques. Introduction to coldworking is also included.
Class price includes use of tools, kiln firings (average 2-3 per piece), four sheets of 9" x 9" glass (clear, white, transparent color), five sheets of 4" x 4" clear glass, colorful scrap glass, stringers, frit, fiber paper, thin fire and molds. More glass is available for purchase from the instructor.
Students may come in for three 2-hour Open Studio sessions during the duration of the class at no cost.
