Anna Louise Curnes, dubbed "Anna Lou" by her mother early on, is a Dallas-bred and Chicago-based artist who has a true love for all things southern. she received a B.A. in Spanish and studio art from wake forest university. after a brief stint in the business world, she fell in love with glass and has never looked back.

Anna has studied under fused glass artist and welder Becky Johnson, glass-blower Mark Mitsuda and glass-blower Joe Ivacic. in 2016 Anna spent two months in Itlay learning the ancient art of lume glassworking under glass master Diego Bottacin. setting up her studio full time as a resident artist at the Fulton Street Collective in Chicago in addition to her Dallas studio has finally allowed her to concentrate solely on her art and expand her range from small sculpted flowers to large-scale installation murals.

What Anna loves most about her fused work is that she can take broken pieces of glass and create something far more beautiful than the pieces ever were individually before they were shattered (creating beauty from brokenness).

What she enjoys most about her hot glass work is that, after subjecting it to intensely refining heat, she both instructs the glass and listens to it as she molds it. she loves working with the fluidity of its very nature to create something fresh and free.
