Bead-Making 101 (4 weeks)
This 4-week class is for
students who want to learn the basics of beadmaking and working hot glass in a
torch. Students will learn to safely operate equipment and tools, manipulate molten glass into multiple shapes and refine their skills
by exploring decorative techniques such as dots, stripes and twisties. The
instructor will be there to assist with design techniques, offer suggestions
and assist students in completing their design ideas. Basic wire working will also taught so you can make earrings, pendants, keychains and more.
Class price includes safety glasses, various colors of Moretti glass for use during class, mandrels, kiln time and all the tools needed.
A glass kit with additional colors and mandrels is available for purchase for $40.00.
Everyone welcome; no prerequisites! After the second class you may come in and rent studio time. This class is a prerequisite for future flameworking classes.
Private Lampwork Instruction
Private lampwork instruction provides students
with the ability to have one-on-one instruction time. Private instruction will
focus on the interests of the student and desired area(s) of assistance, but
will not exceed their ability level (i.e., safety is our number one concern).
This class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Please wear
cotton clothing, tie long hair back and wear closed-toed shoes. Days, date and
times must be arranged with CGC's owner via e-mail or on the phone. Cost
is $40 per hour. Cost does not include materials fee.
If you are interested in private lessons, please email Leslie Speicher, Owner, or call 216-543-2329.
